The Business Card:

Handing someone your card is a less threatening way of putting the ball in their court.  If you find you're just way too shy to go over and strike up a conversation, or perhaps you're in a noisy location, which makes it difficult to break the ice, then make sure you carry a few extra business cards around with you.  Write a short note on the back.  Say something like, "The noise makes it difficult to talk, but I'd like to meet you.  You can reach me at."   Or if you're shy, say, "I think you're really attractive but I'm a little shy.  If you'd like to talk sometime please call me on ___."
